Orcs/Inox

Orcs were at one point known for their intense ferocity, and ceaseless desire for the property of others. However, as time wore on, the defenses against them grew more adept at repelling their advances. Valuing life over money ultimately, they began to settle down into communes and take on a more structured lifestyle. Do not mistake civility for docility though, as if they feel they are wronged in any way, they can make sure you disappear without a trace. While no man outside of an orcish tribe has ever fully experienced orc culture, many fragments and footnotes speak of shamanistic rituals and druidic practices, many of which include the sacrifice and grafting of other creatures, woodland or not. Because of this, there are only firsthand stories and skeletal fragments of Inox over the years, leading to little conclusive evidence   Orcs are also unofficially called Inox, and it is more of a term one would use if you were referring to them in a friendly sense. Throughout history, Orcs and Inox, while mentioned in different contexts, are in reality the same species. Inox will often change their tribe names to reflect this change (i.e. the tribe Inox-Napt".   (FOR THE SAKE OF CONTINUITY, THIS ARTICLE WILL REFER TO THEM AS INOX)

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Inox are generally tall and well-built. Some of the traditional Inox are bigger and have more muscle mass, but modern Inox are a bit more trim and defined. Both variations exist today in areas where the climate would fit one more than the other   Traditional Inox: Traditional Inox are on average 6'6" and are plump with muscle. Their skeletons have larger bones than any other humanoid species, which allows them to live a bit more rugged than their modern counterparts. Traditional Inox have three small horns on the tops of their heads which act as a semi-effective helmet. Along with this natural armor, their hide is similar to leather, which proves resistant against swords and clubs.   Modern Inox: Modern Inox are a bit shorter, with the average being around 6'3", with much more height variation than traditional Inox. Their bones are thinner, often due to their more intelligent nature. Modern Inox, with a thinner hide than traditional Inox, compensate by allowing their horns to grow longer and thicker, providing more solid defense. These horns are also the stuff of great amazement in art.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Diets vary from species to species and tribe to tribe, but they all harken back to their ancestors by valuing meat as the top source of food.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Traditional Inox have incredible smell and sight perceptions. It is said they can hear a hoard a mile away and smell prey twice as far. On the other hand, Modern Inox have better eyesight.
