Temperance
The last of the three 'Island Gods' of the Tui people.
They view these three islands to be great spirits of stone that give them life, in the form of the creatures and fruit, protect them from storms, thanks to their natural shape, and offer them guidance, in the form of the strange events that seem to naturally surround these unusual lands.
They worship them as gods and view them as all representing different aspects of life or different things they promote, different things they offer the people who choose to reside there.
Temperance is viewed as the grandmother that, ultimately, is not there to teach them the same lessons as the others but a completely different one. Temperance offers both kind, mild summers and powerful, painful winters, it shows them both kindness and hardship and tells them to take the lessons they've learned and become something greater than the sum of their parts. They should not let these lessons define them, they should not be soft and mild, nor should they be hard and cold. They must be better, they must be stronger and kinder than others to survive the world as it truly is, to excel where others fail, to be the best.
For this, they thank Grandmother Stone, and upon completing her trials, they feel comfortable and ready sailing to see the rest of the world, sometimes never even truly settling on land but becoming one with the sea, an eternal traveler, but they will always have a home here with their family.
