The Roughs
A sprawling region where the only law is that there are no laws.
Formerly a kingdom ran by a public council where everyone was free to vote as they pleased, they eventually decided they did not like the restrictions imposed upon them by the society here and by, nearly unanimous vote, it was agreed that all official laws would be scrapped.
Surprisingly, much of the region in the south is composed of villages of people living in peace, though always with weapons at the ready to act as their own personal militia to protect their shared interest in their village and their lives remaining as they are.
The north side of this region is well known for the lawlessness and uncouth nature of its residents attracting many like minded people, creating a series of gangs and roving groups of bandits all attempting to battle and fight amongst themselves for treasure and loot, though many paying "taxes" now to a figure known exclusively as the Bandit King who seems to enforce a crude approximation of order up there.
In the middle, there's a clashing of these groups, but for the most part the people in the south prevail with the bandits simply being pleased to pick apart any caravans or traders foolish enough to travel through their lands.
