In order to follow the Goddess of Death, her champions adhere to her tenets as if they would ensure their spiritual sanctity. They are cold, calloused, and strong in the arts of killing. All people tremble in fear at the mention of Viras's chosen; because they know that time is no longer on their side. Death is inevitable.
Viras's Favor
To receive the favor of Viras is to be cursed as an outcast and an enemy to the world. To those who do not follow the goddess of death, those favored by Viras are damnable creatures who are deserving of hatred for their accursed destiny to slaughter their peers. Ironically, some champions do not make it to adulthood due to this ridicule and fear from their peers who inadvertently further the goals of Viras. Champions of Viras are selected for their callousness and their deceptive tendencies. The Viras's Favor Table below offers some suggestions for how Viras bestowed her dark favor upon you and how your peers dealt with it.

Devotion to Viras
Death brings life as life brings death, and you believe more firmly in death's inevitability. To kill is to sacrifice. To sacrifice is to be heard. To be heard is to be acknowledged by your goddess and your victim's peers, inviting boons and curses alike upon you. As a follower of Viras, consider using the following ideals from the Viras's Ideals Table below.

Earning and Losing Piety
You increase your piety score with Viras when you expand the goddess's influence on the world in a concrete way through acts such as these:
- Killing in the name of Viras and to benefit yourself
- Hunting for food or to challenge yourself
- Provide a sanctuary for your fellow devotees
You decrease your piety score with Viras if you diminish Viras's influence in the world, contradict her ideals, or make her look ridiculous or ineffectual through acts such as these:
- Killing for the sake of killing
- Saving a life from the clutches of death
- Allowing yourself to weaken
Killer
Piety 3+ Viras trait
Your devotion to Viras has been met with a dark caress within your soul. You feel that you have been blessed with new power over your quarries. You may cast the spell
blindness/deafness once per long rest.
Butcher
Piety 10+ Viras trait
As your body count rises, so too does Viras's love for you. Just as those who bear witness to the goddess feel a deep sense of dread and awe, you too, may inspire such feelings within your victims. You may cast the spell
bestow curse once per long rest at a range of 30 ft. and without concentration.
Reaper
Piety 25+ Viras trait
Once upon a time, you may have felt some discomfort with your first kill. Now, however, you feel a sense of belonging and comfort as the darkness of the world embraces you. You may cast the spell
shadow of moil once per long rest without concentration. The darkness which surrounds you with this version of the spell is considered magical darkness.
Shepherd of Death
Piety 50+ Viras trait
In the heart of Viras, you have proven yourself to be an excellent deliverer of death to your quarries. For being such a loyal agent of death, Viras will enlighten you with the exact location of a quarry of your choice. Name the target creature's full name and you will know the target's exact location for the next 24 hours as long as you both exist in the same plane of existence. You can only track one creature at a time and you also learn one fact about your target of your choosing. Using this ability on the same target creature multiple times does not yield new facts. You can use this ability once per long rest. Target creatures illuminated to you in this way must be slain by your hand. If they perish by any other means, then you will lose piety equal to their challenge rating. If you die while trying to slay this quarry, then your piety level will remain unchanged.
Knight of Slaughter
Piety 75+ Viras trait
Death stains your soul from the hundreds you have slain in the name of your goddess. Your practice in the art of killing has honed your reflexes to supernatural levels. Increase your Dexterity score and your Dexterity score maximum by 2.
Champion of Viras
Piety 100+ Viras trait
The black kiss of Viras is a divine reward exclusive to those who have slain countless victims in Viras's name. Champions of Viras are the apex predators of the world; and those who live in it are rightfully fearful for the lives of their loved ones and their own. The sign of Viras is emblazoned upon your soul in the form of flowing shadowy wisps from your shoulders and arms and black veins. As long as you maintain your devotion to Viras, you will never again roll stealth at disadvantage, the number rolled to earn a critical strike is reduced by 1, your critical hits are rolled one additional time, and the effects of time no longer have an effect on you. Which means you cannot die from old age.
