Polara
Polara is the capital of the Anand province of Odessa. Polara is the biggest supplier of wheat in the country, its farmlands stretching out for miles past the perimeter of the city.
The Vallas family has presided over Polara and the Anand province for 141 years, taking power from the Harell family after they were all assassinated. It is still unknown that Bec Vallas hired a vampire assassin by the name of Ilena to do the deed and help his family rise to power.
Modeled after the High Capital of Odessa, Hale, the city of Polara has its own districts as well; however, instead of the nine Hale has, Polara has only five: the Sky District, the Temple District, the Rose District, and the Bird District.
The Sky District holds House Vallas, the great estate that sits atop the crest of a large hill on the edge of the city. There are only two other minor noble families in Polara, and both of their estates can be found in this District as well.
The Temple District keeps the only temple to the Allmother in Polara. It is frequented by most of the residents of Polara throughout the weeks whenever they need to seek guidance in their lives.
The Rose District is where the majority of Polara's citizens live. The homes here range from two to five rooms; none of them are very grand as nearly all of the residents are some kind of laborer. The nicest of the houses in the Rose District belong mainly to merchants.
The Bird District holds the marketplace and the slums. The marketplace dominates this District; stores and stalls are crowded together selling all from grain to handspun rugs to imported fish. The slums spread around the outskirts of the city. The people who live here struggle to get by, but they still find ways to stay optimistic.
