FFM13: Accidental Allergy Season

It had been one of those days. Merci had received some new, unidentified vials of liquid. So, the smartest thing to do was not what she had decided to do only hours before: mix them a little and see what happened.

She backed away slowly.

It was a capital offense in the house to let animals into her makeshift lab. This had been put into place by Deceit after the last time she had accidentally turned a rogue stoat purple. Sure, it was not fatal, but Merci still remembered how upset Deceit had been after hearing an earful from Etna over the matter.

Merci, contrary to popular belief, did not want to cause her sister more trouble than normal. There was a baseline she had to maintain, however, and Merci was very good at doing that.

Back to her current problem, however, Merci inched away again as her current victim, Reyna, sneezed again. A puff of green powder filled the immediate area. Merci cringed. Reyna only gave the redhead the sweetest smile she could muster-

Sneezed-

-and vanished. Merci shot up, looking for wherever Reyna landed. There was a loud thud on the floor above her. The girl froze. Right above where she stood was Deceit's library. Full of expensive books and priceless relics.

Oh no.

Merci would be honest. She thought about moving to a far off country under a new name and giving up science for the rest of forever. Really, she did.

Then Reyna dropped to the ground behind her, and Merci sprung into action. It was simple, really, to tackle the Djinn and tie her to the nearest chair.

Now, how to fix the thing before Deceit came home. Or noticed, if she was home. Merci thought rather hard about this, ignoring the hole Reyna was attempting to bore through her with dirty looks alone. She got side tracked, thanking Gaia that she had been through enough to gag her unsuspecting victim.

Side tracked again: that sounded kind of stalker-ish. Tyrant tightened his hold on her wrist. She focused.

Same vials, with antihistamine, as it seemed, turned out to be the solution. Well, Merci thought, almost. Reyna was still coughing up neon clouds of dust- but at least she wasn't randomly teleporting anymore.

Progress.
