FFM21: Tiny Moments

"Courage is grace under pressure, Courage is grace under pressure, Courage is grace under pressure..." Wisdom repeated one of his wife's favorite human quotes like clockwork, pacing a rut into the carpet.

Today was the day. He was thrilled and ill-prepared and afraid. Very afraid. Childbirth was a feat in itself, but to do so and break the laws of their kind in the process was, well, Wisdom tried not to think too hard about it.

He would have a son. Or maybe a daughter, but he hoped for a son. There were cries from the next room over, and he continued to pace. Moments later, Etna slipped out with a tiny pink blanket. He panicked.
