Hell Reverse - Part 13

Sounds echoed off the surrounding walls as Sekmet's hammer crashed against burning metal, again. Sure, this may not have been a traditional role, and perhaps she was stepping on someone's toes. Sekmet had traded her sun dial, her seat and her tradition for something far different.

Another link dropped into the cooling water, spewing steam into the air with a hissing sound. It almost covered the slight tapping at the door.

"I thought I'd find you here." Setesh leaned against the door frame, watching Sekmet throw another rod into the coals.

"Someone had to be." She snapped. Sekmet refused to look at him, busying herself with sorting her work space.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Where were you?" She turned to him, and leaned against the work bench. Under her full attention, he faltered slightly. This bothered him, for many reasons.

"I-"

"Besides where you were supposed to be," She amended.   "What do you want me to say?" There were no words for what he had done, and this was something that Setesh understood. Sekmet's anger was not misplaced.   "What are you going to do to make it up?"   "To who?"   "What do you- Ugh." She shook her head. Clearly, he would not understand her point. Instead, she chose a different path. "Hel- she's swamped trying to see everyone to where they belong. Charon. The Archangels working overtime. Princes of Hell, the Olympian Spirits? And that's just for starters."   "You're angry."   "You think?" Sekmet glared at him. "You really fucked up this time, Set."   "Is this all that this is about?"   "You're the reason millions have died, and dozens of people are working night and day to clean up your mess, and you think there's something else that's bothering me?"   "I only asked." He up his hands up in surrender or defense- he wasn't sure.   "Clean up your own mess before trying to delve into others."
