Hellv7 - Chapter 3

It was raining. It was always raining, he mused. No matter what he did, Star did not give him as much as a smile. It troubled him; he had never had this much of a problem trying to get a girl to join his Eden, in exchange for immortality. He had never wanted them so badly, either.

“Osiris, is there a problem?” Isis asked him for the second time that day.

“Nothing,” He lied. Isis could see right through him, as both his sister and his wife of old. Still, Osiris did not have the heart to confirm nor deny his sister-lover’s worst fears.

“Very well,” Isis took her leave, as she had done almost daily during the past few centuries. Their bond had been weakening since the conception of Horus, but no attempt had been made to stop the decline.

Still, Osiris could not stop thinking of Star. A small mortal Vampire Hybrid who had defied the plan Fate had set out for her by simply refusing to die within her mother’s womb. Since her birth, she had been creating waves in the worlds, simply by existing. Even as a sickly child, she compelled those around her to be the best (or worst, in some cases) that they could be.

Time, however, was against him. If he could not convince her to become part of his Eden before the aging of Vampires took its toll on her body and ultimately her mind, she would fade. Not die, but her existence would fade into nothingness. To fade was worse than death, and Osiris knew it.

Death was reversible.
