The Arcadia
The Arcadia is one of the largest structures in the Hollow City. Though it, like most of the city, has fallen to ruins, it remains largely intact.
Purpose / Function
The Arcadia must have served multiple purposes in the past, which left the marks of their memories behind.
The most obvious use was as a staging arena, be it for performances, ceremonies, or conflicts. The tiered seating around its main arena could seat up to approximately 100,000 people (give or take a few thousand oversized orcs or tevani).
Its current usage is mainly for skin trials and as a cool escape on a sunny day.
Alterations
A wooden ramp has been extended from the seating area directly into the arena to bypass the maze of the Arcadia's underbelly. Similar modifications have been made to places where stairs have crumbled or walkways have broken.
Architecture
The outer shell of the arcadia rises in a series of arched niches, some of which still contain ancient statuary.
Inside, a honeycomb of stairs and corridors allow for large numbers of people to make their way up into the extensive tiered seating around the central arena. Some of these areas were protected enough from the elements to have surviving paint, which includes flourishes and murals that are being studied by lore seekers. Other elements of note are a plethora of surviving graffiti, and a handful of new additions from the new batch of hollows.
Its underbelly is still largely unexplored due to instability and mechanisms that are still being studied, both of which draw the curious and the foolhardy.
