Purpose / Function

The Altar Of Patience is a massive temple complex that serves as the stronghold of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as well as the physical location where The 7 Sacred Seals are stored.

Defenses

The Altar Of Patience is in its own Pocket Realm, protected by a very precise Barrier which only allows for To and From travel from within the Temple itself. This failsafe ensures that even if the Four Horsemen are removed/indisposed that no one can enter the Altar to steal the Seals. Not even the Bifröst can pierce this Realm and the only other way to enter is to have the Holy Spirit, the Soul of God.
Each of the 7 SEALS is housed in their own separate chambers, each one guarded by a Golem whose life force is linked to the Seal that they are guarding. The interior of the Temple is a massive maze with constantly changing paths that spawns an endless stream of Monsters and Daemons.

History

When God made the 7 SEALS she elected not to keep them all at The Throne of Yggdrasil as a final failsafe in the unlikely event that she is defeated and the SEALS are stolen. So, to this effect, God made the Altar Of Patience, a massive temple that she used to house the SEALS. This temple exists within its own pocket Realm and can only be reached via direct summoning from within the Altar.
To guard the SEALS, God also brought Four beings into existence and dubbed them The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The idea was that these Four would Guard the SEALS and, in the event that all seven were stolen, the Horsemen would have their full power and might unlocked and let lose upon Yggdrasil to root out evil and return the SEALS, bringing about a great Apocalypse.
She dubbed them as such;

W A R, Horsemen of Bloodshed & Battle,  D E A T H, Horsemen of Decay & Rot,  F U R Y, Horsemen of Passion & Rage,  S T R I F E, Horsemen of Conflict & Discord

They are the Four of the End.
