The Paragons
Those who follow Asterianism put a lot of meaning and belief in what they see in the night sky. To them, it is a mortal's only glimpse into the Plane of Asteria, where their gods dwell and rule over Sfaíyra from. In the moons they see the gods and look for favour. In the stars and the constellations they form, they see the legendary mortals who have left their mark on this world and earned their place alongside the greater beings in Atseria; they see their chance to do the same.
Nine constellations hold prominence in their belief. They are thought to signify the nine paths to immortality. Upon a person's death, their loved ones and those whose life they have shaped can plead to the Klothys priests at the Shrine of the Idols in Flamekeep to have them canonised them as a Paragon. The Priests will spend 30 days praying in consultation with Klothys before declaring whether the person's soul has made it to Asteria and under which path they did so. If it is declared so, their name will always be preceded by the title 'paragon' and followed by the path they took. The title Paragon would always come before any title given to them in life. Famous examples include Paragon Emperor Prozeus Cyratakos, The General and Paragon Helleya Novellia, The Protector.
Below are the paths, associated constellations and associated lifetime achievements which lead to one being named so.
