The War of Heroes

For so long had the land of man fretted over its border to the south. There stood the great Dhakaanian Empire of the goblins. There monuments and statues stood tall and their numbers continued to grow. They needed to expand to the north just as Breland and Cyre their own room to grow. Skirmishes turned into battles and battles into war. Humanity vs the goblinoids.
Inspired by the relatively new gods, heroes from all over The Five Nations took up arms and headed south to purge the land of the monstrous threat. They were united under one banner by the inspiring duo of Prozeus Cyratakos and Helleya Novellia. A Cyrean Prince and a Thranish Princess, bound by love, they led the assault against the goblins and convinced all of the need to work together under one leader to ensure humanity's prosperity, chosen as they were, as the God's favoured people.
It was in the decisive final battle that The Five Nations were victorious but at the cost of Helleya's life. Prozeus was named emperor of the newly formed Union that was named in Helleya's name. Songs, plays and stories still tell of many of Khorvaire's greatest champions who fought gloriously throughout what came to be called The War of Heroes.
