Spirithost

Spirithosts are the eerie, spectral residents of the Border Ethereal. Though often confused for ghosts, spirithosts are ver much alive -- as much as their shifting, partly material bodies allow.

Ethereal Progeny

The Ethereal Plane is rightly believed to be the domain of restless, transient souls. However, the Border Ethereal, which lies closer to the Material Plane, has its fair share of adopted inhabitants, such as the blink dog and phase spider. Spirithosts are the only humanoids to have adopted this plane, and might be considered its only true descendents.
Though their bodies resemble that of ghosts--slightly translucent and glowing with a pale, white light--spirithosts are not undead. Far from it: they are born, grow old, die, and can even raise childrent. Yet the stigma of undeath lingers over them. Many a well-meaning but ignorant cleric or paladin has tried to turn or banish a spirithost to no avail. To avoidsuch conflict, spirithosts often avoid large, unfamiliar towns, or disguisetheir ethereality from others.
Spirithosts do not experience time in the same way as most mortal creatures. As a result, even though they mature in their teens, their lives can stretch on for hundreds of years.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They look as pale elven or human figures. They have light hair and skin that has an etherealness to it. You are considered Medium.

Biological Traits

Ghostly Descent. You float gently to the ground. A the end of a fall when you aren't incapacitated, subtract 60 feet from the distance you fell when calculating your falling damage.
Incorporeal Movement. You can move through other creatures as if they were difficult terrain. You can also move through solid objects, but your partially material form can't pass through more than one foot of stone, one inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt.
If you end your movement occupying the same spot as a solid object or creature, you are immediately shunted to the nearest unoccupied space tha tyou can ocupy and take force damage equal to twice the number of feet you are moved
Spirit Speech. you can cast the speak with dead spell, without requiring a material component. When you cast the spell using this train, you can ask the corpse a number of questions equal to your proficiency bonus, and you can't cast the spell with it again until you finish a long rest. YOu can also cast thisspell using any spell slots you have of hte appropriate level. You choose the spellcasting ability for this spell when you select this race.

Genetics and Reproduction

Spirithosts reproduce in the same manner as humans. They can only achieve this on teh Ethereal Plane and due to their perception of time on average only do this every hundred years or so. They do mature as teens and live out hundreds of years if left on the Border Ethereal.
