Situation Report Twenty-four

General Summary

After too much talking Sylke and I clamber up to the roof of a dockside building. I'll never get used to being invisible. It's just weird. We're out of the picture, though, since we're too far away to eavesdrop on our targets as they make their way past us to a wallowing old ship at the dock. Fortunately, Numal is ready for the meeting beneath the jetty and hears everything. He explained what he heard to Ugnan, Sylke and the rest of us later, but I wasn't concentrating much, although I tried to summarise our next steps at the end of this journal entry.   After perhaps a half-bell, the ship-side groups break up. Sylke and I follow Olvar, who ends up at the Hadeshill Asylum. By now I'm convinced we're not going to find out anything more from our hulking friend this evening, and head back to our ship to warm up. Sylke remains behind, however, and her decision pays richly: later in the evening, Olvar leaves the Asylum and walks to the Shrine Of The Fourth Blood. What's the link?   When some time later Sylke returns and she, Ugnan, Cherry and Numal knock heads on what they discover, we plan to split up. I am to keep watch on the likely access point to the Cisterns, in case the cult attempts to move Patience Cloot; the rest of the crew head over to the Elgata Estate for a meeting with a Loari named Luronen Moje.   My evening passes uneventfully, as I sit in the damp drizzle, watching one of the entrances. When a drunk group of lads stumble pass, and one mistakes me for a tramp and pulls out his old chap to piss on me, I reckon it's time to head back to the ship. The growl as I leaped to my feet, and the glint of a long kynac in my fist should have caused him to shit himself too, but he held his composure remarkably well; "Go and piss somewhere else", was sufficient warning for him to piss up the wall rather than over me.   Back at the ship late into the second or third bell I learn some of what the rest of the crew have discovered. We need to take a sky ship to a hell-hole called Aranmor, make for some old ruins called Tarek Nev where we need to retrieve some rock called the Ashling Stone. Once we have this, and only when we do, must we return to Sel-kai and rescue Patience Cloot. Oh, and apparently, there are some excellent weapons to help our Harmony-quest on this Aranmor too. Oh, and apparently, the place is also infested with demons.   As I digest some of this, I look at that weird double-headed axe leaning in the corner. Time to get practicing Cran - that thing looks like a proper demon-slayer.
