Contract between Miru De Notani and Lord Kyroshi

Any who seek permission to enter and explore the ruins beneath the Kyroshi Pit must sign a magically binding contract with the owner of the Pit, Fire Lord Kyroshi himself.   The young explorer Miru De Notani signed the contract given her without much thought to the fine print, being too eager to begin delving into the dark ways beneath the Shatterbright. Unfortunately for her, and her family back in New Lafaelle, the clauses within the contract pledge them to far greater service than any of them suspect.   While it gives Miru access to the ruins, and to publish any discoveries she makes to further her academic pursuits. Any and all material or artefacts she uncovers remain the property of Lord Kyroshi, and must be paid for should she ever seek to take them away from the site.   If any artefact or property is damaged by Miru or her associates, then the Lord can seek recompense from her or even her family back in New Lafaelle. The wording of the clauses extends to any damage to the ruined buildings themselves, which when considering the type of excavations being undertaken beneath the Kyroshi Pit, and the fragility of the ruins, this damage is unnavoidable - if not necessary to be able to explore at all.   The Enforcers of the Preceptry are keeping close watch on Miru's activities, and the tally of what she and her family owe Lord Kyroshi is growing.   Kyroshi is a patient Lord, and has many such contracts with explorers he admits to the ruins. He has yet to enforce the worst of clauses, so the full potential impact of them remains obsure to most. Kyroshi sees them as an insurance should he ever need to take more direct control of those scrabbling about in his domain or claim the things they find for himself.
