Of Conquest and Ghosts
The twilight lands are beset by ongoing wars to seek control over the Uferbrech Archipelago. The goblinkin call the islands home, and the invading forces of the Protectorates seek to carve out a place of their own after generations in exile. Ancestral ghosts fight against the salvaged technology of the ancients, while sinister powers stir beneath the waves.
You begin your adventure within the lands of twilight in a circle of islands known as the Uferbrech Archipelago - the Broken Shores. The archipelago consists of volcanic islands which surround a wide shallow sea with a vast and mysterious gyre at its centre. Beneath these waters grow vast reefs of coral, which conceal the drowned remains of ancient\ cities.
The archipelago is the focal point of ongoing wars between the goblinkin who call it home, and the invading forces of the Protectorates, who seek to carve out a place of their own after generations in exile.

Goblin
You are goblinkin, from one of the clans who traditionally call the islands home. You may have taken arms against the invaders, or perhaps you are one who has lived your life in captivity, or someone who seeks a diplomatic solution where goblins and Protectorates can coexist in peace and even learn from one another.Protectorate
You are from the Protectorates, belonging to the invading forces. Perhaps a noble seeking your fortune on the frontier, or a soldier conscripted against your will. perhaps an Academic seeking to explore the ruins, or one of the Faceless, seeking to guide the faith in new lands.Independant
You are not aligned to either side in the war. Perhaps you are one of the pirates or fortune seekers from Camp Thrifty, taking advantage of the conflict for your own ends, or a perhaps one who simply seeks to be done with both goblins and Protectorates and seek your own path of freedom. Perhaps you seek deeper secrets of the ancients for noble, or nefarious ends.Far travellers
You may be a wanderer, vagabond or emmisary from far-off lands. Perhaps you are an agent of the Gleaming City, a mechanist from the Stoneforged Assembly, A minstrel from the nomadic trbibes of the Shimmerlands, or a spy from the underground Empire of Novalucca. You may even be from place still stranger, such as the Underice, the Tangled Fathoms or the Ferment.
