The Demid and the Scorpion
Long before time began, but after Seudon had brought the light to the world, there were the humans, and the demid. Others were there too, But the demid were creatures of the caves, and the humans were creatures of the skies. And that was how it was going to stay. The demid were too warm blooded for the skies, and the caves crowded around the humans.
But there lived a creature in the caves with the demid: The scorpion.
The scorpion loved the caves, but the demid made things too hot. And the demid trod on its sisters, or ate its mother. So the demid had to leave.
First it tried the teachings of the Light, and asked the demid. But the demid said the caves were vast and available to all, could they not share?
Then the scorpion tried the path of the Deep, and killed the children of the demid. But the demid taught those left to be wise to the scorpion and more of its siblings died.
So the scorpion looked to the teachings of Seudon, and gathered the weaknesses of the demid, looked to their histories, and their fears.
The scorpion stayed to the shadows and started to whisper, about how the depths were too warm, about how cousins envied cousins, and soon the demid were no longer united.
But they still stayed in the caves for their blood burned when they came to the Light.
So the scorpions spoke to the worms that ate the earth, that made the caves of the deep and asked them to drown the Demid, the Light would save them, or Seudon's wisdom would.
So the worms bore into the walls of the sea and flooded the tunnels, and as the demid came to the surface they were cooled.
But the scorpion was not wise for scorpions could not swim.
