Ares Demon-Trigger Combat Jacket

Written by: Ripshot

So I don't know if you heard, but Ares released a new flick called Demon-Trigger: Shadows of Seattle. It's about a Knight Errant cop who goes undercover as a Shadowrunner to stop the bad guys and save the day while learning about friendship, yada yada. I fell asleep halfway through, but I'm told it's unintentionally hilarious. But this isn't a data-cache for trid reviews. We're here about this fun little line of merchandise they've been selling like hotcakes to a new generation of idiots who want to look like the cool kind of mercenary terrorists.   The Demon-Trigger Line of jackets, named after the trid which is in turn named after the hilariously shitty alias the protagonist takes up, are all based on the 'practical' outfits worn by the "shadowrunners" in the film. It's pretty clear they made it for looks over any actual practicality, but wouldn't ya know, it's actually pretty functional: The inner layers have lightweight ballistic weaves sewn in, pockets are easily accessible, the elbows are padded and the ballistic plating in the jacket can actually take some pistol-caliber abuse.   For something made to advertise action-movie schlock, this is a pretty decent line of gear. Problem is, they all look like a leather jacket got spitroasted by glitter and neon spirits, so while it's completely legal to wear outside you'll still draw attention for looking like a sequin trainwreck.
The look can actually work to your advantage. Most people will see the jacket and assume you're just dressing in shadowrunner-chic and not actually there to kill someone for money.

For posterity's sake, the poster above is wearing one of the jackets right now, and he sprung for polychromatic patch support. Take that how you will.
