Barrens Raiju Mace
Written by: Ripshot
If you've been in the Concrete Forest recently, you might've seen a few of these bad boys being carried by the ever-hospitable folk in the Rampart. Or you might've had one swung in your face, in which case, tough luck chummer. They're calling this thing the Raiju Mace, after some kind of cryptid thing from Japan that likes thunder and lightning, and for good reason: It's a classy mace hand-made out of rebar and scrap-metal, wired up to an electric-car battery and some other electrician drek that's above my pay-grade. When a switch welded onto the capacitor's turned on, a couple of prongs at the tip of the mace become electrified and suddenly you're holding the mother of all stun-batons. Color me shocked though, when I found these things weren't just a pet-project but something that the tech-heads in the Rampart actually mass-produced, at least as much as anything barrens-made can be mass-produced. The exact components are still pretty different between each individual mace, what with the supply and demand of quality electrical goods, but it's still pretty consistently well-made and (mostly) safe enough to put it a few leagues before most things you see cobbled together in the Concrete Forest. No offence to the fine engineers in the Rampart, but they're hardly the only ones who can make something half-decent in the barrens. We've all seen how much you're drooling over the The Horse Dancers's bikes, not that I'm any less covetous of such...Most of these are exclusively in the hands of the Rampart's scouts and sentries, often with some LEDs wired up to turn them into makeshift lanterns on top of weapons (at least until you swing it and break them all), but recently a few other gangs in the forest have been making their own versions out of the ones they get their mitts on, albeit made to much shittier standards with the expected consequences. But wouldn't you guess, they're actually for sale! The price is pretty expensive for outsiders, but the Rampart's always been open to haggling and barting for things they can't scavenge themselves, and honestly? It's pretty good bang for your buck, chummer.

Turning the belt-mounted battery on takes one Simple Action. The battery holds a maximum of five charges, consumes a single charge with every stun-prong attack and takes half an hour plugged into an external source to regain one charge.
Glitch: One of the components breaks or malfunctions. The stun-prongs no longer work until an Extended Test (Hardware + Logic(Mental Limit) vs 12, ten minutes) is made to fix or replace the nonfunctioning part
Critical Glitch: The stun-prongs' insulation fails and you take their base damage, resisted normally.
