Victorinox Aegis Memory-Jacket
Written by: Ripshot
So we all remember when Victorinox came out with those fancy memory-blades, the one that could go all floppy and disguise itself as a bracelet or a belt or whatever, and we were all like 'WOW, SO CHROME AND WHIZ' for about a week before forgetting about it? Well, Victorinox hasn't forgotten, and they're lookin' to capitalise a little more on the concept by applying their memory-material stuff onto a Jacketof all things. Now let's get this outa the way: No, it ain't a weapon, you're not turning this thing into a battleaxe or a gun and killing gangers tits-out. This is a defensive take on the smart-material idea, applying the tech to a new base-alloy to optimize the hardened form into something resembling body-armor. When the intergrated circuitry gets the right signal, it hardens and reshapes key portions of the jacket to harden and fold eachother while leaving the joints as flexible as they were. The end result looks like you've made your clothes out of a grey origami frog, but the overlapped layers are thick and sturdy enough to stop knives, pistol-caliber bullets and even flechettes in their tracks.Regarding the 'intergrated circuitry' she mentioned, wouldn't that be a giveaway that this jacket isn't just any jacket?
Not as much as you'd think. It's been patterned to resemble some 'quality-of-life' electronics you see in higher-end formal-wear, sweat-detection and muscle-massagers and the such.Right now, the Aegis is only being sold to a few 'select VIP' customers, but have no fear, chummer. A couple of those customers were Raleighites, and they received a few articles of clothing along with a whole damn bolt of the smart-material for custom jobs and patch-ups, and wouldn'tcha know it the bolt ended up missing, along with the customer. It'll cost you a pretty penny to get a taste, but if you're looking for bulletproof digs that look fashionable and inconspicuous, this might be right up your alley.

The base jacket has a concealability modfiier of -6 to determine its true purpose. When triggered through a complex-action, the smart-material fabrics harden and shape into bullet-resistant plating, increasing the armor-rating from 4 to 10 and making losing its concealabliity modifier and Social Limit increase. Reconfiguring the smart-material's hardened shape requires a Software + Logic [Mental] (10, 1 minute) Extended Test.
