Gifts

Supernatural abilities sometimes occur in humans.  These abilities are most commonly psychic in nature, such as divination, telepathy, empathy, etc but can be wildly varied.  Some of them are aberrant, appearing in individuals with no obvious cause or genetic component.  Others are genetic, passed down through family lines.  By this definition, witchcraft can be considered a genetic human gift but it is so prevalent that witches are considered a seperate subset of humans.
When a human is changed either via lycanthropy, vampirism, or changeling magic, they often retain their gifts.  Sometimes such change can trigger a latent power.
