The Amaranth Coven
Structure
The Amaranth Coven is broken down into duties. Becket is at the top as the Mistress, with orders for warriors and herbalists. They were once the largest and most mighty coven in Boston, and while they still hold that prestige of old, they are much reduced in numbers. They are considered the most powerful coven still. Becket maintains a strong hold on her coven and brokes no challenge, but outside of a few trusted advisors, everyone is considered equals. Initiates are those who petition to join the coven and are under their review period when they first join.
Culture
The Amaranth coven was once much more strict and hierarchal, but in more recent years with the decline in large covens and in the numbers of practicing witches in general, they have become more like a family. They see themselves as guardians of their way of life and somewhat apart from human society. They consider themselves White Witches, keeping away from destructive magic and anything that involves the taking of life. They believe in the Rule of Three and have close associations with many Wiccan traditions.
Public Agenda
It is to serve the community of greater Boston to which they dedicate themselves, as their ancestors have done, and to support witches in the area. They try to foster positivity, protection, and understanding between covens, magic folk and non magical, and be the bridge between both worlds when one is needed. They also liase a fair amount with the House of Sinclaire and the Round Table.
