This skill indicates an individual's expertise in planning and executing the digging of safe, stable, and useful large holes. These holes can be the foundations for buildings, bunkers, and trench systems, or ex- tensive underground mines or tunnels.

Because the character with the Excavation skill usually does not do all the work alone, this skill is best used with Leadership skill when supervising the activities of large groups of workers.
