Nal'Darich
Nal'Darich are The Invasion's most deceptive minion. The sole purpose of a Nal'Darich is to infiltrate mortal societies, trick them into lowering their guard, and consuming their leaders, or lead rebellions, so as to create the chaos needed for the other Invaders to thrive in their violent overthrow of Shaorra.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Nal'Darich appear to the untrained eye as normal Humans. Very few can perceive their physical anomalies. The more obvious being a slight difference in eye size, a mouth being a few millimeters off-center, hands and feet that are slightly too big for their frame, and small lumps on their chest, under their clothing.
Once their clothing is removed, it becomes painfully obvious that they are not human. Nal'Darich are riddled with eyes across their torso, and a black hole near their navel. This hole appears to be as black as space. As Nal'Darich are threatened, their bodies contort, nearly folding in half backwards, becoming quadrapedal, with their hands acting as back legs. Their muscles tense, and grow, and the eyeballs in their abdomen press out. The entire torso begins to grow, along with the black hole, until it covers the torso from pelvis to sternum, becoming a gaping mouth, with what appears to be rows of teeth in a circular pattern, repeating one after another into eternity. From their hips grow two long lanky arms, typically 5-6 feet in length, with long, slender, sharp fingers, for grasping at foes, and feeding them into their infinite mouths.
Genetics and Reproduction
None have managed to capture or dissect a Nal'Darich. It is believed that they do not reproduce, but are beings that are created by Shaogg'Alog when needed.
Growth Rate & Stages
Nal'Darich are created as humans that can appear at any range of ages. Though after every 2 days of not feeding, they begin to wither rapidly. Most Nal'Darich will find a reliable means to feed as soon as they arrive in Shaorra, but those on sensitive missions that lack privacy may begin to lash out and act in desperation as each day passes that they do not feed. By the fourth day without feeding, a Nal'Darich will appear to have aged 20 years, and even more rapidly after that, for the next two days until they have aged hundreds of years and wither away into a purple semi-corporeal dust.
Ecology and Habitats
Nal'Darich are typically only found in populated areas. They are expert infiltrators, and are used as tools for Shaogg'Alog's espionage and social influencing. While a Nal'Darich could survive outside of a town, they would not leave without an important purpose, and a goal that seems likely achievable.
Dietary Needs and Habits
A Nal'Darich's true diet is strictly carnivorous, and their body will reject any cooked food, or plant matter, within a matter of a few hours. A Nal'Darich posing as a human in a town will need to excuse themselves from a social gathering after eating as they wretch out a foul bile of what they consumed. Their bodies are meant to consume living beings through the hole in their chest, and no other way.
Biological Cycle
The Nal'Darich have short lifespans. They are products of Shaog'Alog's desperation, and require mortal souls to extend their life and usefulness in the material plane. Nal'Darich live only for a few days before aging rapidly and withering to an ethereal dust, but if they continue to feed on souls, they can maintain their energy and corporeal forms for as long as they feed.
Nal'Darich do not sleep, and do not need to eat in the same way that mortals do.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Nal'Darich are blessed with some otherworldly powers by their master, and use these to infiltrate the societies of Shaorra.
A handful of times per day, Nal'Darich can read minds, teleport, jump great heights, and impersonate the voice of any creature.
One ability unique to the Nal'Darich is it's Magnetic Gaze. If one stares into the eyes of a Nal'Darich, even in it's normal human form, they feel helplessly drawn towards it, and will slowly begin to approach it, no matter how much they fear it. This ability functions decently in their human form, though it drains them to maintain the effect for long. Though, in their more monstrous form, the ability persists effortlessly.
Origin/Ancestry
Otherworldly beings summoned to the land of Shaorra by Shaogg'Alog to act as his elite infiltrators. A product of the First God's desperation, they are wildly powerful, cunning creatures of otherworldly origin.
