Al Jaran Royal Guard

The Royal Guard of Al'Jaran is a elite unit in charge of the personal security of the Emir.
They are exclusively composed of nobles of pure blood, and will serve as generals as well as advisors, politicians, governors and in many other ways be the arms and legs of the Emir.
There are three Marzbans that act as commanders and have absolute authority granted by the Emir in Al Jaran. The Marzbans are viewed as the epitome of glory and nobility and strength, the greatest in Al Jaran.
The Guards are not all necessarily combatants and many are chosen as a political move, as it is a position of great honor. However, guards that will be used in conflicts, are among the greatest warriors and the last line of defense of the Emir. Among the non combatants, many great politicians and personal advisers to the Emir can be found, and will generally never leave the throne room where they serve as ceremonial guards, rather than an active military force. The Marzban of this ceremonial guard is considered to be the second most powerful man of Al'Jaran. The other 2 Marzbans are divided into an active force and a defensive force.
The defensive force is the Emirs personal defense force and will always man the walls and gates of the palace, and be responsible for security of the emir, he's family and he's palace. Should anyone ever be assassinated within palace grounds, the current Marzban of Defense will be replaced without trial. Should the Emir come to harm, the Marzban is executed for failing he's duty.
The active force is the Emirs personal fist, wherever the Emirs will needs to be enforced and a serious military force is required, the active force is often deployed throughout the city or even outside the city. For example, should a Dragon or other legendary creature show up and wreak havoc in the Al Jaran sphere of influence, the active royal guards will be the ones to deal with it. Should Al'Jaran ever field an army, it's general will surely be found among the active forces.
