Oculariat
Some forms of evil are as inexplicable as they are distressing. Oculariats begin life in the deep desert under a full moon, a small creature made of a bubbling cluster of boils and eyes distinguished only by a sequence of hooklike claws. This creature collects the eyes of the living, typically while they sleep, incorporating the eyes, and knowledge of all that those eyes witnessed in life, into their ever-growing form. Eventually an Oculariat begins to take on a hunched, humanoid shape, having accumulated many lives worth of wisdom and savvy, all turned toward the singular goal of helping the Oculariat hunt.
Impossible to surprise and very difficult to deceive, Oculariats are potent spellcasters who are very resistant to many kinds of magic. Relying on subterfuge and illusion to gain access to individuals with unique and diverse experiences, the Oculariat is vicious in its extraction of new eyes, often slaying the creature to whom they belong in the same practiced, skewering motion with which she collects the windows to their souls.
