Aids to Those with War Injuries
Describe an invention in your world that helps people with disabilities.
Like any nation which has been at war for generations, Chrenada has a number of citizens with lingering injury or permanent disability. Ryuven weaponry, such as maces, tends toward blunt trauma, so a crushing blow will shatter bone and will take a long time to heal to even low functionality.
While physical injuries are bad enough, more talk is made of the more arcane risks of war wit the Ryuven, namely the magical injuries. These are difficult to treat -- Mage Healing Amulets are not effective against magical injury -- and are painful. While these attacks can and do kill, it is well-documented that mages are at greater risk from such injury, as a soldier without magical ability is less affected overall by magic while the attack is enhanced in a person with magical skills. However, the dramatic aura of magic and the inability to train against such attacks often make these the more feared. (History makes it clear, human nature has never been rational about risk assessment.)
Regardless of the type of injury, it is not uncommon to see basic adaptations made to accommodate those who have lost abilities in the defense of the kingdom. Simple prosthetics might be seen to replace a forearm or a leg. Some markets will offer a separate display for affected veterans, providing a bench for those who came on a crutch to rest while they make their selections. Vendors with slaves will often send them to carry or deliver purchases for those who might have trouble managing.
