Chimeral Weapons

A chimeral blade is a weapon that has more than one form. The gnomes of __________ were the first to invent chimeral blades and are still considered the masters of their crafting. Others have attempted to reproduce the art but most of these are subpar and are considered of lower quality.
Chimeral blades are able to switch between their forms with some basic interaction such as a button, pull string, or lever action. Some magical Chimeral blades exist but authentic ones manage their form shifts through clever engineering.
Due to the ease with which forms can be switched, wielders only need to be proficient in the different forms.

Viper Blade A viper blade is a chimeral blade that has both a shortsword and a whip. The blade itself is a series of small blades with a thin steel cable that runs through their spines. A mechanism in the hilt will tighten the cable activating the short sword form and then loosening to switch to whip.
