Humans

Well you mostly know human species, from the mirror. You probably have stepped in a bunch of other representatives of this upstanding group of bipedal mammals over the years too.   Humans have a special relationship with planet Sharitarn, quite unique. That is the native talking specie of Sharitarn, all others are involuntary immigrants, or "iis" to make it shorter.   Not true, but that is the simplified version of facts, and it work well enough for the basic. If you wish something more complicated you may consider talking species created from ex nihilo on Sharitarn, by magic, species that evolved artificially into talking ones by selective breeding, genetic manipulation (by science, during times when the Exclusion Law was not active; or by magic at any time) or by living next to trees that produce spores that make all animals able to use language, and non-human species that evolved from human specie native of Sharitarn during the several billion years human specie has been around on this planet.   If you don't mind, lets postpone those considerations. Just pretend humanity is the one and only native talking specie here.   When humans evolved language for the first time, it changed the way the Vortex behave. Up to this point it would only bring non-talking species, after all sorts of talking beings became targets. Preferential targets (metaphorically speaking, since the Vortex is an impersonal phenomenon and don't actually "aim" on anything). The phenomenon is attracted particularly for life, talking life, humanoid talking life, and human humanoid talking life. The probability of it catch something of the later category is higher that the probability of it catch something of the previous ones. In top of that the phenomenon also is more likely to catch from you universe someone you know than someone that has no previous contact with any Earthling already on Sharitarn. Finally, it also is more likely to catch people who have a historic of sexual intercourse with you than other people you know in a non-sexual way.   Over the billions of years, from a geopolitical and demographic point of view, that means you always find a lot of humans on Sharitarn in any given period. Even when the Vortex tunes some Universe without humans in it, humans will continue arriving (the tuned Universe is the one from where large majority of iis come, but the Vortex still catches individuals and small groups from other Universes).   If our specie had the sense of collective and the smugness elves have we probably would have taken control over Sharitarn very early in Human History. As things are humanity became 8 billion years as cattle, slave, or at very best nomadic hunters hiding from other more powerful species.   The human natives of Sharitarn being les advanced that almost any other human group had a particularly difficult existence. During this very, very long period.   Any way, that may not matter that much to you if you are less than 65 million years old. Because what is considered the human (native) civilization of Sharitarn is about that old. During this period the most normal situation is humanity standing as the dominant specie on the planet. That does not means it has not shared power with other forces, it has, and in variate degrees.   In any case, you can mostly describe Sharitarn as a human planet. And that will be an accurate assessment.     Native humanity of Sharitarn, the "natural heir" of this planet, is practically indistinguishable from Earthling humans. You can certainly tell if someone is a native, an descendant of natives and iis, a descendant of iis, or an ii, by using Divination magic. And you can get a obscene volume of information about people's blood lineages that way. Certainly a Earthling geneticist would be able to see the difference between natives and Earthlings clearly enough, if his science wasn't forbidden by the Exclusion Law.
