Teleporter Gorillas

Those animals are about twice larger, and twice and a half heavier than Earthling African Gorillas. Far smaller than the Mountain Gorillas common on the North Coast of Main Continent, but distant relatives of them, those animals live in the hotter regions of Sharitarn. Being found in the region between Mud Road and the West Coast. 
    They only have fur on their arms and legs, with the rest of the body covered in a thick skin. Males have scales on their backs like those of rhinoceros. The leaders grow even larger, and develop additional natural armour as much as longer fangs and sharp claws feline in aspect that make them very easy to recognize when surrounded by other teleporter gorillas. 
    They eat fruits and fungi as well, but are mostly carnivore. Astonishingly fast in their attacks, almost too smart in their hunting tactics to be considered non-talking animals. 
     Even humans who are capable hunters sometimes are killed by those animals, when travelling alone or in small groups through their forest. However, we hunt them more often than they hunt us.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Teleporter Gorillas see well during the day and about as badly as we see during the night, except for some nocturnal sub-species even rarer that the rest. However, they can see, hear and smell  things from any point they choose in their normal range of teleportation whit no effort.
     The average range of teleportation of a gorilla is about 200 meters, but they can do teleport jumps two or three times for second, six dozen times in a role, before need to rest. And hundreds of times by day, every day. 
      However, pregnant females cannot jump. In their case teleportation results in abortion, or death. By instinct they avoid it as much as possible, and the band will stay and defend the pregnant females, facing all but certain death in their effort to protect them (locate the place there the females and their cubs hide is the main objective of Gorilla hunters, attack those places in a secure way to attract attention of all males in the band, specially the leader) 
       Males can teleport about 25% more distant than females. While the leaders are able to teleport as much as twice the distance common males jump.

Conservation Status

When Teleportation Magic became rare, Ages ago, the animals when extinct. Too many alchemist and sigraxes hunted them for the organ in their bodies that grants the animal their natural power of teleport.
Later the Vortex brought more animals of this specie from different Universes. This time the secret of how to extract their organ and prepare magical potions with it has all but entirely lost. Teleportation spells where kept for very few magic users, and the potions to enhance them had limited utility because of that. Those who new enough to create magical items with the animal agreed in limit the sharing of this knowledge and keep the hunt under control to reduce the risks of new extinctions. (similar precautions are taken regarding other animals with natural teleport powers, but those gorillas provide particularly valuable ingredients for create magic potions and items)
Encounters between the animal and talking beings are accidental in most cases. Is hard for hunters to kill one individual without the use of magic, and practically impossible to track a pack.
