Manehatten
Manehetten, the place everyone wanted to be and anyone there was someone you wanted to be. This was the peek of Equestrian culture before the war and remained so until the populous was wiped out. Once the site of a long forgotten evil the city sprung up within the last century with no sign of any such thing, the few who know of what was there believe the endlessly lit city scared away whatever dark beings once resided on the island.
Despite being an island and prime for port traffic little trade ever came through here. This is because the only places nearby were gryphon controlled, a race not known for their exports. Instead businesses, restaurants, schools, museums, art exhibits, and boutiques pack tight together in this indifferent city, each vying to be the best at what they do. Competition is fierce with the winners often decided by those in charge, however they have very specific tastes that, for a time, meant that nearly every restaurant sold the same food, every boutique the same cloths, and every museum the same exhibits. Competition was pointless when everyone lost and everyone won, but no one dared go against the critics for those who did suddenly became places of lower rating and lost their standing as places of culture.
When the war came it was almost a blessing to the world to see this city destroyed and the toxic culture with it. However it was not without cost. When the gryphons attacked they excelled at cutting off exits and bottle necking anyone inside a building into a single gauntlet of claws and beaks. It is estimated 70-90% of the citizens died during the attack leaving the once shining city a mass grave.
After the bombs fell no one dared move back in. Warning outside the city warn those who approach with three words.
