Auberon (O-bər-ahn)
The terrestrial planet of Auberon is the fifth of ten planets in a binary star system. From Auberon’s perspective, the suns appear relatively close together, when in fact, they are quite far apart. This results in a day/night cycle that is similar to that of Earth, with one exception - when it is “night” it is never truly dark as the second sun acts as a very bright star during the night. This, in addition to the two moons of Auberon, cause the sky to be caught in a perpetual twilight during the evenings.
Nevertheless, the two suns of Auberon frequently eclipse one another for rather lengthy periods of time, causing temperatures to plummet and strange phenomena to occur…
Auberon has an oxygen and nitrogen atmosphere, making it suitably habitable for life to thrive on its surface. It is a planet with abundant sources of water, both on and beneath its surface. It is rich in minerals and is geologically active with mountain ranges and volcanoes littering its continents. Finally, gravity on Auberon is 9.377 m/s², making it just shy of Earth’s 9.8 m/s² gravity.
Alongside the two moons, Auberon also has a third moon, seemingly broken and split open at the top, its fragments spread across the sky.
