Short and Stout, Dwarves are well known across the Dragon-lands for their skills with masonry and forging.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dwarfs closely resemble humans though are stocky and dense. They have a thicker covering of body hair than humans as well as being able to easily grow facial hair. Just like most humanoid species they have 206 bones in their body though these bones are denser and weigh comparatively 1.5x more than a similarly size human bone.
Dwarves when living above ground tend to be taller with light hair, where as their Sub-terrain brethren are usually shorter with darker hair.
Growth Rate & Stages
Dwarves age slowly and mature at around 50 years old and their twilight years only last roughly 20 years [though this may vary due to intermixing with other species].
Ecology and Habitats
Dwarves prefer underground homes and cities but will live above ground should it be beneficial to their situation.

Social Structure
Dwarves have a low birth rate of females so their society is more accepting of Homosexual relationships but those in those relationships are expected to help teach new generations or adopt children. They're accepting of same sex pairings but if they're female there usually expected to bare children... often if you have a lesbian couple they'll have kids via donation and if they don't keep the kid then the clan adopts them. With low female birth rates they see it as a problem if some people won't reproduce, though this is only expected within the clan structure. So quite often if a female dwarf doesn't want to have children they'll go adventuring.
