Trefal is the former chief of Cratenga, until a series of disasters saw him grabbing for the bottle and letting Drekken take over. Since then he has only gone downhill, becoming indebted to Drekken (550gp) and losing the boat Hope he had invested in. These days he scrapes by as a scavenging fisherman.
He is the one who initially vouched for the party and got them inside, even offering a place to stay.
He recently got even more on Drekken's bad side after preventing him from laying claim to the slain Ophinix. After which he decided to lay low for a while.
When the party returned from the Vile Verdant, apparently Trefal had been captured by Drekken and sold of as a slave.
