Akanai River

The Akanai is a swift flowing river that flows from Akanai lake to the Whitecap Sea. It serves as a shipping route for goods between Longburrow and Malaster.  Ox drawn barges take supplies up river in the spring through fall, but ice sleds are used once the river freezes over in the winter.  Due to the swift flowing water, there is about two months of the year that supplies cannot be transported on it due to it not being full frozen over, but still carrying large masses of ice downstream.
