Gerard Larousse
Gerard Larousse is a 66 year old former forger, fence, and informant from Edeau. Gerard was often a charming charismatic man especially to peoples faces, but was a gossip who loved to insult and belittle everyone behind their back. He often flirted with the bottom rung of high society, but never quite got there. Multiple times he was called out and challenged to duels for his lack of tact, but in almost every case he would apologize and pay off the accuser with bespoke jewelry or rare trinkets. While he often would interact with upstanding criminals, he occasionally would have dealing with more thuggish organizations.
Ten years ago he got in over his head working with a serious criminal organization, L'Epine Mortelle, and failed to meet an impossible deadline. The organization had someone break into his chateau and maimed him, resulting in the loss of two of his fingers and the amputation of one of his legs. Ever since then he has become a quieter cautious old man that has tried to put the criminal life behind him and spends his time observing the goings on of Edeau’s socialite and criminal worlds without really participating in them. Despite his disability he is still a reasonable jeweler, but he does it more to pass the time as he lives easily on his well invested riches from his former life.
He is the owner and proprietor of Jewel de Larousse, a jewlry shop in Edeau where he caters to the rich, although there are rumors that he still dabbles in black market goods, albeit it quietly and to a trusted clientelle.
