The Spell Forge
The spell forge is an arcane foundry within the Arcane Sanctum of Bastion that allows for the creation of new spells. Each new spell is an ongoing project that requires multiple weeks of downtime activities to complete. Once a spell is complete any character can swap out a spell for it on their first adventure, otherwise they can gain it through normal means. Research time is determined by the level of the spell and whether it has the ability to be upcast, as shown below. The research time as shown below is the total time needed, and is increased a further two weeks if the spell allows for upcasting. Up to three of the sanctum's staff can be assigned to a project at a time to work on it, which may decrease total research time depending on the staff's speciality.Level | Weeks |
