The Path of Righteous Light

The Path of Righteous Light, or as often refered to as the "Second Canon" is a revised set of teachings published by the Church of Celestine in the Imperial City. It contains the works of religious scholars as they have endeavored over the years to better understand faith and the will of Celestine and Her Heavenly Chorus.

As time has passed and we better understand our place in the cosmos, our faith, and the glory of Celestine, we realize the importance of spreading the knowledge to the faithful. Years of study from scholars and the meditation and communication of the Holy Emperor and his forefathers with the Goddess herself have lead us to understand the path that Celestine has laid out for us so much more that we could have ever hoped for.

First we have learned of the Heavenly Chorus, for they are not simply beings of great power or servants of Celestine, but parts of Celestine herself. She is Elysium and all that came from it's creation are too, part of her. They are her Faith, her Justice, her Order, her Truth, and finally they are her authority as creator and savior of our world. They each teach of a different lesson that she wishes us to learn and a way of being we must respect, although there are other angels of Elysium such as The Warrior, The Guardian, The Hunter, or the Peacekeeper, the being of the Heavenly Chorus are much greater and deserve our reverence, as they are Celestine incarnate, the only form she can take to walk among us in the Mortal Realm.

We have also come to understand that just as Celestine cannot perish as long as we hold her light and values in our hearts, neither can the infernal being that opposes her, the Demon God. As long as mortals give in to vice and corruption, he has a chance to return. We must be vigilant both in keeping our own faith, but also exposing the corruption that others would keep hidden beneath a shroud of deception. For just as the Demon God stole away into Elysium masked in a shroud of lies, he can do the same in our own hearts. While it is a great deed for those who can seek out and destory demonic manifestations here on the Mortal Realm, we can all do our part to live pure, faithful lives to keep the hellspawn from taking hold of our hearts or the heart of those we love. These are the tennants given to us from the Emperor and thus from Celestine herself;

1. Do not decieve. For a lie can grow like weed amongst the flowers, choking out all beauty, joy, and life.
2. Life is sacred and should not be taken without pause. There are many who walk among us who do great evil and while they must face righteous justice, we must know that our cause is righteous before taking a life.
3. Harbor no evil. Sometimes sin takes the forms that we do not truely understand, allowing evil to take root is no different than nuturing it yourself.
4. Let others see the light. There are many among us who are lost or have never been shown the way. While we cannot harbor evil we must always attempt to redeem those souls that stand a chance at salvation. Some beings have chosen to become so entrenched, or are by nature evil, and they must be shown divine justice.
5. Honor your protectors. Like how the Emperor was annointed in the blood of Celestine, those who lead, and protect, and care for our souls deserve our respect. Do not equate this to false kings or those who lead blindly down dark paths. Only those who have the light within them can truely guide us to the eternity in Celestine's love.
6. Temper our vices. Consume not substances in glutton and collect not material things in greed. Those things that would dull our sense should be consumed only in ceremony, or at times of great celebration. We however are mortals, and Celestine understands that we are with some flaw, so these are sins that can be forgiven on if one repents and lives an otherwise faithful life.
7. Ritual is a cleansing light for the soul. Pray regularly and honor Celestine in all her forms. Attend the services of those faithful shepherds in your community and give back to those in need.
8. Spread the word of Celestine. Do not pilgrimage to sites of great battles or holy places, but to where the shadows gather in the absence of Celestine's light. When the whole world is bathed in her glory, then we will finally be rid of the demons that torment us, and Elysium and the Mortal Realm can become one again.
9. Your faith is a flame. Keep your faith burning within you, nurture it and in times of great sorrow or darkness, remember that its something within you that you can use to burn away that darkness, not just something that needs to be protected.
10. You are the child of Celestine. Her true child may have been taken from her, but now her children number in the thousands. We must remember that we must honor our elders just as we honor our creator who gave us life. Although we may not always feel it, just like a mothers love for her child, it is always with us.
