Shek

Veiwpoint
It is a somewhat traditional D&D world with men, dragons and demons as well as any other crazy things you would find in a monster manual or player handbook, but they are filtered through my ideas of what they are and how i view them on the planet of Shek. So you may know of a elf from traditional fantasy and they may follow the same tropes but come to find they aren't speaking with the traditional elven accent, it sounds more like a new Zealander accent and the ancient sylvan tongue from which the elves were derived from sound like a harsh austrailian accent. Minotaurs still like riddles but will work as a dock worker or a medical practitioner
The World
The world itself is larger than earth and has no traditional seasons. the wind that blows across the planet comes from one source, the breath of khalas, the god dragon with a tail that stretches 1000 miles. There are some other sources that change or interrupt the flow like magma pits, mountains and fey forests larger than life, and residual magical effects that stain the land. There is a spiraling void that is a wound on the planet and the universe itself. The three headed being of pure evil Voul, VOuz, Vash, otherwise known as VoZo, tore through the layers of the universe to crawl onto the planet shek. It was eventually destroyed by Khalas who ripped the three heads from the body that fell back into the void. One head was thrown into the sky and now orbits the planet as the plane of shadows and deeper within lies the infernal pits of hell and the abyss.
The Government
The empire was formed many years ago and they are a global government. they have their hands in every city but stay out of most political affairs. their main goal is the protection of the planet from the ongoing threat of the Ash, the result of vozo ripping through the planes, spilling all manner of evil into the world. the empire sits at the ash-land pass, the only way for evil to travel into the rest of the world. The ash land pass is the only war that the empire will recognize and all others should be handled internally.
