An assassin is essentially a killer for hire trained in mischief. In Middleland most assassins belong to a guild, called the shadow brotherhood.

Career

Qualifications

An assassin must be skilled in moving stealthily and not sticking out from the crowd. They also must be very calculating to achieve their goals efficiently.

Payment & Reimbursement

It used to be common to only pay an assassin after they accomplished their mission, but because of the united efforts of the shadow brotherhood, it's nowadays common to pay a part of the salary upfront.

Purpose

To an assassins typical killer for hire jobs come other tasks like spying, stealing certain valuables, or bounty hunter duties.

Social Status

Assassins are usually looked down upon, except when they are needed.
