Caeneil
House Caeneil used to be one of the greatest noble houses in Enarion before their line was broken.
A Horrible Catastrophe
House Caeneil never had a lot of members. This was a small part of the reason for their fall. Matron Evenia Caeneil had two daughters, Yelinea and Siane. In 1760, both Yelinea and Siane were killed in a hunting accident. The now aging Matron was now the only member left of the house. Too old to bear more children, she died in 1783. She wasn't too old, so maybe she died of grief.
Whatever it was that killed Matron Evenia in the end, without any living members House Caeneil died with her.
Since this happened rather recently by Enari generational time, most of the older Matrons of the other houses remember the death of Matron Evenia's daughters, and are still talking about how horrible that was. Sometimes, the discussions turn towards the age of Yelinea and Siane, and why none of them had any children yet. Truly that would've saved the House from dying.
The Caeneil Public Library
The name Caeneil won't be forgotten for quite a while yet. During their high days, the House paid for a public library in Thalor Alari that's still open today. Anyone can come here and read their rather substantial collection of books. Caeneil is still remembered for their generosity of the library, so it's become mostly a norm by now that all the noble houses donate either money or books to the library from time to time. This norm is highly kept by the houses not wanting to be the only one not doing it. They won't want to seem stingy, after all.
