Discovery of Vanoxis

In the summer of AE 649 a small group of explorers set out to explore the mountainous area called the Peaks of Heaven. They were the first humanoids to find the mysterious temple of Vanoxis - a structure nobody really knows the true purpose of.

When these explorers returned to the city of Mandural nobody believed what they'd seen, and the diary was forgotten in an old dusty bookshelf. After some years the diary found its way into one of the libraries of Mandural, still forgotten by the masses. It wasn't until AE 823 - more than 150 years later - that a librarian called Alloch stumbled upon the diary and decided to try to rediscover the ancient temple.

I'm a big fan of the *slightly* small scale, but still first-contact style this article has going. I'd love to read more about what happened in the temple! A crudely drawn map the travellers jotted down, or something like that, would go a long way in really tying everything together I think.   Great work!

Thank you for the comment! I'm glad you liked the article! <3

I added a map to the journal bit now, thanks for that tip as well!

The aesthetics of your page and document is so pretty. I also enjoyed reading the journal very much. I could feel the excitement of the author when they were still traveling up the mountain, and after the discovery of the temple. The horror of losing a friend and eventually the disappointment of not being believed. What a great entry for the monthly challenge.

Whilst I love large scale entries like galactic and continental expeditions, this small scale article was BEAUTIFUL to read! You managed to portray an uplifting atmosphere perfectly and the document felt lively and full of optimism to me. It was a great relief from most of the Bermuda Triangle Esque entries for this challenge but nevertheless, you’ve managed to strike up an amazing entry that can be read in a short amount of time and also is beautifully formatted too! I’d have offered some critique into it but sadly, the time for the challenge has mostly run out and it being almost midnight here, my brain isn’t in the best mood to do that. But I’ll still say, congratulations and keep up the amazing work! You deserve all those likes!

Okay, I absolutely loved the log you wrote here. Fantastic journey you made, great discoveries you explain in text and the little diagrams you made really help bring this to life.   I feel bad for that climbing expert, it seems he was more of a climbing journeyman. And I like the twist at the end that no one believes them, though I do hope they manage to get back out there and get better documentation!   Great job on this one!
