Session 39.5: April and VETT go to Fairhaven

April went with Vence to Fairhaven. She introduced him properly to Valerie before they parted ways. Just before and during their travels, April got a chance to talk to all 4 VETT members.   When talk of the feathers came up, Vence explained that when he or Emir started the topic, it would normally end with Cissa in tears, so it was a subject they didn't involve themselves with. Thaen's the one who got the invitation anyway. April touches upon Dal Qor with vence, specifically the girl he saw with Emir. He reveals that it was unexpected and that Emir may have had a harder time of it. The girl is Lucy, Cissa daughter, and for some reason she knew who they were and could do see them. Very worrisome.   Next time they plan on drawing her towards them. For now, he plans to do some research. The Kalashtar, Dal Qor, the Traveller and the dreaming dark are all topics of interest. There's a business idea he wanted to pitch to Kleris as well, of replayable illusions. April herself plans to do a ton of research. She feels a bit powerless and insecure right now. She explains her research plans and how she plans to mix soils to see if she can create the same type of dirt found on Skotch. Emir himself found the topic of Lithi - April's clockwork bird - an interesting one and asked whether April actually knew how to put a spell such as major image into an object. The image is for Cissa, who has troubles remembering people sometimes. He clears his throat while saying he doesn't want her to forget. April's actually been working on something that might work. She's already capable of creating a small image. If he can provide her a description and object she can already get started. April's been able to instil a spell in her goggles. So far it's the only object it's worked with and it can only be used so often times a day. She hopes to work with more and bigger spells in the future.   April gets curious about how Emir and Cissa met. About 2-3 years ago, Emir explains, they met at the Last Lantern in Wroat. He stops himself before he gets too far into the memory. He explains he had to tell her about Lucy and it might have broken her. It was worse than telling her about Sunny Baxton. He pauses for a moment and reveals that Dal Qor was a strange experience. He and Vence also had only been aware of her for a month. He warns her that while he thanked Marta for her help, they should keep shared information at a downlow as there might be a spy in the Circle.   When it came to Thaen, April took a share and tell approach. She spilled about how she didn't get drunk often and that she loved to run. He releases a dry chuckle after all the information. He's from the Draoneyes and doesn't typically drink at all. He does have a title though: The Mockingbird of Breland”. Vence also has one. He asks whether she has one of her own and her eyes sparkle. No!! But she wants one! She takes this time to fill Thaen in on what she learned with Tristan about the crystals from her mum.   April then starts animatedly starts talking to Lady. Rather, April's talking to Thaen and getting Lady to answer while he sits there bemused. In the end, Lady makes an appearance. She doesn't get out much, but they decide to have a gals day out at some point.   While they probably greeted the grandparents together, April and Vence did their actual visits separately. April would have kept talk about her mum and dad at a minimum. It was for them to tell their story, not her. But she doted on them with breakfast and big hugs. April stayed in her mum's room and worked when she could. She had homework, after all. But she also did a lot of researching at the Spire.
