Demonkin

The demonkin are relatives of demons, yet they are not as demonic in nature as their full-blooded fiendish relatives. In fact, the demonkin are civilised and smart to a great extent. What they do radically different from other species is being exceptionally free-thinking and open to new experience. Their freedom is central to their society.
The demonkin are feared by other species because of their tendency to be corrupted by their demonic bloodline. Many demonkin are likely to be downright vile and evil, and avoiding them might be a wise rule of thumb. Male demonkin are likely to be brutish savages and the female demonkin are commonly sadistic temptresses.
A large way in which they are marginalised is that they are consistently profiled as potential criminals by the guardians of local cities. They are also arrested and subsequently jailed at a disproportional rate compared to other ethnicities.
Sadly there are many kind-hearted demonkin who suffer from the preconceptions about their kind.

Major language groups and dialects

The major language spoken is derived from and largely based on the languages spoken by humans in the nearby areas. In fact, the demonkin are noticably more eloquent than their human neighbours and they value being well-versed linguistically and their pronunciation.
Some outsiders in the lands of the demonkin went the exact other way. There are small cities at the borders of the wilderness, which have held on to the fiendish languages.

Common Dress code

Male demonkin often dress in full body armor as an expression of their willingness to do combat and protect their traditions of freedom and self-ownership. Male demonkin who dress in light armor are presumed to be clerics, wizards or scholars of some sort, which is also respected.
The female demonkin tend to dress immodestly as a way of expressing their freedom to present themselves in any way they like. Female demonkin who dress modestly are presumed to be unattractive.

Beauty Ideals

For males, a large size of horns on their head is a sign of male strength. Then again, smaller horns are taken to mean a quick wit and a sharp mind, which is also highly valued.
When it comes to females, an exaggerated female physique is appreciated. Most demonkin agree that a "curvy" female adheres more to the beauty standard of the demonkin.
