The Map of Sierra Minor

There is a lot of diversity within Sierra Minor when it comes to geography, biotopes, flora and fauna.   There are four continents, one in the northwest, one in the northeast, one in the southwest and one in the southeast.
The sky islands of Sierra Minor conform to specific climates. Some islands have tropical biotopes and others have, for example, snowed biotopes or temperate forest biotopes. The biotope is different from island to island and even nearby sky islands can have radically different biotopes.   Biotopes down on the surface of Sierra Minor are scattered throughout the world at random. A desert area might border a swamp or a tundra, for example. Biotopes are normally quite large, but rarely there are anomalies in climate formation so an unusually small territory is ruled by a certain biotope.

Geography

Sierra Minor is divided into a number of biomes. On land, biomes are separated primarily by differences in latitude, height above sea level and humidity.

Fauna & Flora

Sierra Minor is inhabited by a large number of different plants and animals. These living organisms are suited for a specific kind of environment, which is usually the environment in which they are most frequently found in the wild.

Natural Resources

Sierra Minor has resources that have been exploited by humans and other sentient species.   Mineral ore bodies have been formed within the crust through a process of ore genesis, resulting from actions of magmatism, erosion, and plate tectonics. These bodies form concentrated sources for many metals and other useful elements.   Sierra Minor's landmasses produce many useful biological products for humans, including food, wood, pharmaceuticals, oxygen, and the recycling of many organic wastes. The land-based ecosystem depends upon topsoil and fresh water, and the oceanic ecosystem depends upon dissolved nutrients washed down from the land. A large portion of Sierra Minor's land surface consists of forest and woodlands, grasslands and farmland.   The waters of Sierra Minor can be fished for aquatic lifeforms, including piscines, molluscs, seaweeds, sponges and corals. The subterranean territories underneath the seafloor are exceptionally rich in various earthbound resources like metals and minerals.
