Isle of Dread

There is an island located off the coast of the Earka en' Vitya mountains that the sane circumvent at all costs. The Isle of Dread is a volcanic island located in the Summer Lands archipelago, the smoke from Bas Mountain can be seen from the coasts for three Seasonal Lands and some days can block out the twilight skys for the villages closest to the coast.   The island is indeed quite dreadful to be on. There are several tropical climates throughout the Summer Lands however the Isle of Dread is practically boiling. There is no such thing as cool water in Dread. Sailors often describe the sea around the island as a boiling pot. The waters churn and bubble from beneath and the scent of sulfur surrounds you. If you are within a mile of the coast the heat will take all of the water from the wood of the boats adding to the already thick humidity of the area.   There have been a few expeditions to the shores but none have quite been brave enough to venture further into the island, due to the overall demanding climate, leaving the majority unexplored. The cartographer stories that come from the expeditions describe it as a jungle the likes none have seen before. Flora with colors artists can only dream of spread across the edges of the forests just past the shoreline. Some as large as an Actaeon warrior with leaves as thick as a novel. There were also discoveries of carnivorous plants that have no problem scooping up a smaller species like goblins or dwarves to the dismay of some of the crewman.   The beasts that roam the island have been classified as most dangerous. Reptiles larger than buildings roam the forests. One of the cartographers reports that during his research of Nádúrtha Réimse he came across articles telling of a time long ago when similar creatures ruled the sister realm. The documents named them dinosaurs. These dinosaurs come in many sub species, including some flying, but none seem to have evolved past the stage of beasts and do not hold the ability to speak like some other fey creatures.
