Bear Relations with Giantfolk
Larger Bear tribes or villages will often be led by one or two nogdrun, or “noble giants”, acting as spiritual guides and occasionally rejuvenating the giant stock in a worthy Bear urd's bloodline.
Ogres and minotaurs are often treated by the Bear as misbehaving or misunderstood cousins. The Bear admire the strength and appetites of ogres and the prowess and cunning of the minotaur, but centuries of war and folklore mean that even these favored cousins are still dealt with at arm’s length when they are found.
A Bear warrior might set out to visit some “folk from their father’s time” just beyond the nearby foothills, but they are always careful to bring plenty of food and are ready to make a quick exit if things get out of hand.
The Bear rarely have chance enough to interact with elves, dwarves, gnomes, or centaur to form a strong opinion of those other peoples.
In general, the Bear know of or remember elves as haughty and aloof; dwarves as stout but aloof; and gnomes and kinter hazily as amusing and endearing.
