Faiths of the Old World

Religion beset in Mystery:

Not much is known of how faith shaped the old countries before the Royal Purge. With the downfall of previous regimes, the first traditions to be replaced were those of the deities and how one would contact them or carry their wills. Much of the main continent started to believe in a new narrative of the Sun and Moon's importance, spawning the pantheons of Dawn and Nightbreak respectively.

Prince Manus made the suggestion to all the lands to vanquish the teachings of old and although there was the conflict in the higher levels of government and religious parties it was quickly seen that the commonfolk of the lands rejected the old faith. because of this, many scriptures were destroyed as Skålnir continued its movement to reject the past and embrace a new era making texts and practices of the old world faiths very scarce in the modern-day.

Ultimately, however, many of the deities that were worshipped were remembered and these deities still remain important and some are even worshipped in modern pantheons. Some of the older deities may still be worshipped in smaller, more traditional towns.
