Era beginning/end

Before the world as it is.

Far before any mortal memory or history, the world was quite similar to our own. Oceans and continents existed as they do on earth. Primitive humans lived in tribes and small villages fighting each other for resources. This world was inhabited by humans and by the Nerre. Eight in total at the time, they wandered the world trying to figure out what to do with it.   One of these Nerre, Gluarga, was unhappy with reality as it is. He plotted and schemed. Together with a tribe of humans who followed him, Gluarga sought to slay the other Nerres. He fought long and hard, causing massive destruction to the world. But he was slain by the Siblings.   Unbeknownst to the Nerre, a death of this magnitude would disrupt and destroy the world. The underworld rose from the depths. A metallic sea that shows the reflection of those that look upon it. Geldah did not wish to see this world fall to the underworld. She created the first witch, who gave her life to save the world.   The Nerre returned home to the underworld, their original home. They only return to the world when bored or when they seek to make a change.
